Railway Underpass Graffiti Clearance
Complete graffiti removal from 120m² of concrete railway underpass walls — no chemicals, no water, no surface damage.
Before & After

Same underpass wall section — before and after laser cleaning
The Challenge
A local authority in the Dundee area commissioned LSR to remove extensive graffiti from a railway underpass that had been repeatedly targeted over several years. Previous chemical cleaning attempts had left tide marks and residue, and the concrete surface had been partially etched by the solvents used.
The underpass was a pedestrian route and needed to be accessible throughout the cleaning process. The authority also required that no chemicals be used, as the underpass drained directly to a nearby watercourse.
Our Solution
LSR used a 500W laser cleaning system to remove all graffiti paint layers from the concrete surface. The laser was tuned to ablate the paint without damaging the concrete substrate, leaving a clean, natural concrete finish. Work was carried out in half-day sections, with the underpass remaining open to pedestrians throughout.
- Zero chemicals — no risk to watercourse
- Concrete substrate undamaged — no etching or pitting
- Underpass remained open throughout
- Previous chemical tide marks also removed
- Anti-graffiti coating applied on completion
"We've tried everything on this underpass over the years. LSR got it cleaner than it's been since it was built, without a single chemical on site. We've now put them on our approved contractor list for all graffiti removal in the area."
